Synopsis   
In the former VFA there were 21 instances of clubs playing each other 100 or more times, but only once did they finish on exactly 100. This distinction belonged to Northcote and Prahran, who were opposed 100 times from 1908 to 1987. Their encounters comprised 96 home and away games, three finals and the 1962 challenge match, which was played between the runner-up in Second Division (Prahran) and the team finishing second last in First Division (Northcote). Prahran won the first eight games between the pair and the final three, but in between Northcote prevailed to finish with 56 wins to Prahran's 42 with the other two contests drawn. The clubs met in one Grand Final, in 1936, which Northcote won 19.6 to 15.15 in what was regarded as one of the finest games in Association history. All 100 meetings between these teams are discussed and a weighty compendium of statistics enhances the book.
